UV-C Standard Output Lamps by UV Resources
UV-C light is a simple, cost-effective way to prevent the growth of bacteria and mold on cooling coils and HVAC ductwork. Reducing organic buildup not only results in a cleaner airstream, but reduces pressure drop and overall static pressure, increases heat transfer coefficient, and lowers the fan and refrigeration system energy consumption.
Germicidal UV-C light is a 253.7 nm short wave ultraviolet light ray that damages the DNA in cells, preventing it from reproducing and rendering it inert. Lamps are used in-duct for “on the fly” cleaning or near coils for surface irradiation. It is recommended that bulbs be changed after 9,000 hours, or one year.
UV-C lamps contain mercury, and cleanup of broken bulbs can be time consuming and dangerous. Additionally, any fingerprint oil on bulbs will prevent UV-C light from penetrating the glass. The EncapsuLamp addresses both of these issues. The EncapsuLamp is a UV bulb with a synthetic fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) envelope that strengthens the bulb and protects it from air volume and temperature changes, as well as preventing fouling of the glass surface. It also contains any broken glass and mercury in the event of a break. An encapsulated version of the various replacement lamps is available.
Replacement bulbs can be purchased as singles or in packs. Pack sizes are listed in the item descriptions.
Our website features only a small number of the bulbs available, so if you do not see the item you need, please select the generic part number “UVLAMPs” and enter the information that you have in the order line note. We will be happy to supply you the correct item.
